Calumet County Aquatic Invasive Species Coordinator, Diane Schauer, was recognized as this month’s “Stop Aquatic Hitchhikers Partner in Action” by Wildlife Forever. Diane is a leading outreach and education specialist in her community. Utilizing nearly every communication tool imaginable, her goal is to educate those who recreate outdoors on the threats of invasive species and what to do should they have an encounter.
“Without partners like Diane, I know our lakes and rivers would be at greater risk. Her determination and energy reaches thousands of people each year, and is making a difference in the community. We need more like her!” said Pat Conzemius, Conservation Director for Wildlife Forever.
